Another unique and TRUE VINTAGE 70's couture shirt dress from France, an authentic CELINE in excellent vintage condition. The dress is made from a soft and stretchy jersey with a mohair content but lightweight, with a beautiful OP ART multicolour, graphic print I would call modern baroque in purple, aubergine, burgundy, teals and more...with burgundy crepe trims and collar.
The dress is a shirtwaist dress, with 3 wide pleats in front on the skirt. Each pleat hides multiple pleats like a fan that opens when walking. Front buttons, small, rounded matching burgundy buttons with gold metal detail, replicated at the cuffs. The same burgundy crepe fabric trims the pointy collar and backs it, very chic. The dress does not have the original belt, however I found a beautiful contrasting TEAL suede belt (a smaller size though) that matches and draws on the teal in the print, very chic (might be a smaller belt but it matches and contrasts beautifully!). Belt is included in the outfit until you find a different one that fits your waist. Very small shoulder pads, lightly puff sleeves, not lined.
Authentic *CELINE* Paris. Guaranteed authentic Celine, how do I know? The ONLY TWO labels which have a carriage as a logo are Hermes and Celine. Please check labels! Voila! This is a vintage dress, most of the other labels on the dress have been lost during its many years of dress life.
SIZE: label missing, will fit a medium to a larger medium and even a large size(shirtdresses need not be tight on the body or bust) for a bust of 43" unstretched, perhaps a bit more if needed but not recommended. Detailed measurements below.

COLOUR: as seen, a muted/antiqued combination of purples, magenta and teal, burgundy and gold, with burgundy buttons and trim. Colours appear faded in the fabric but it is not wash wear or age, these must have been the original colours because the burgundy trim is very bright by contrast. If there was fading, the entire dress would have faded almost evenly.
FABRIC: there is no label to indicate, it must be a combination, stretchy jersey and lightweight (feels like a very light wool? mohair? and viscose combination I really can't tell). Trims are definitely a light wool crepe.
CONDITION: The dress is in EXCELLENT vintage condition, pre-owned but well cared for and PRET A PORTER condition. It is clean, undamaged, the only thing missing is the original belt. Quite remarkable for a dress of maybe ...40 years old? Do not hesitate, this classic dress is ready to be worn and enjoyed.
A classic shirtdress, a couture label, a rare vintage garment hard to come by even among collectors in Europe, especially in this condition. Perfect dress from morning till afternoon...change the scarf, belt or jewellery and it will carry you throughout the day..versatile and classy chic! Another piece of fashion history, I seem to have a penchant for them.
